IMG Models, a global modelling agency based in America, recently signed its first "plus size” male model.
Zach Miko, an actor and former US Target model looks, to my eye, like
most fit young men. Yet Miko is one of very few plus size male models
with agency contracts.
The UK has no plus sized models signed to an agency, and Australia
has less than half a dozen.
While South Africa is yet to introduce its
first ever plus size male model, Australia is among few countries
worldwide breaking the mould with the signing a few years ago of plus
size model Jesse McNeilly to BGM Models, largely a female
modelling company. One of his labelmates is James Aitken, another of the
few Australian plus size male models.
So why is the rise of the larger mal

She’s back! Beth Ditto isn’t a stranger to threading the needle … or the runway, for that matter.
In 2009, the curvy-girl fashion pioneer who counts Kate Moss and Karl Lagerfeld
as friends, helmed a bestselling collection with British retailer
Evans.
That following year, she closed a Jean Paul Gaultier show. And
even though her eponymous collection hit launched earlier this spring,
the 35-year-old former lead singer of indie rock band Gossip is still
surprised at the reception she receives. "I’ve been this size my whole life," Ditto told Elle.com.
"When I get invited to a fashion show, I'm still that little girl who
has to get creative and make things work for my body. Like, they'll send
you a T-shirt

campaign in the hope of getting a share of a £1m investment from the

challenge perceptions that you can’t be fat and fit or that you have to
lose weight first before becoming more active through the Too Fat to
Run? pitch. Julie, who runs the The Fat Girls’ Guide to Running
blog, is competing against several business ideas for the chance to
pitch to Richard Branson live in the Virgin Media Business competition. She said: "I need everybody to get behind this and vote or share it.” Her

Earlier today, Amy Schumer called out Glamour for including her in a bonus issue about "plus-size” women without her permission.
"I think there’s nothing wrong with being plus size,”
Schumer wrote in a post on Instagram. "Beautiful healthy women. Plus
size is considered size 16 in America.
I go between a size 6 and an 8.
@glamourmag put me in their plus size only issue without asking or
letting me know and it doesn’t feel right to me.
Young girls seeing my
body type thinking that is plus size? What are your thoughts? Mine are
not cool glamour not glamourous.”
The story appears in an edition of the magazine geared at women sizes
12 and up, done in partnership with the women’s clothing retailer Lane

This spring the Italian INCANTO brand represents a debut collection of linen Plus-Size. "Beautiful forms, tremendous bends should be emphasized with the correct linen — the chief designer of brand Klaudia Santoro admits — it isn't important at all — to feel confident what size at you, the main thing and not to doubt own sexuality!" The comfort, reliable support, seductive and trend design — all this waits for owners of curvy shapes. The Dominica line is addressed to lovers of gentle shades. Here each model of a sconce and shorts is created for romantic evenings where there is a place to easy nervousness and shyness. Supporters of bright accents will like Marisol. When 28 year-old brunette bombshell Ashley Graham made history in February as the first plus-size model to grace the cover
of Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue, not everyone was thrilled: A
handful of critics, including former Sports Illustrated model Cheryl
Tiegs, condemned the choice to put a full-figured woman on the highly
coveted cover — lest it "glamorize” being overweight. Their
criticism didn’t slow Graham’s skyrocketing career. This week, she
became the first plus-size model to be featured on the cover of Maxim,
posed with only a white button-down shirt draped against her body.
Tagline: "Natural beauty turned brand builder.” In the USA Ashley Greyam (Ashley Graham) there was the first plus-size model ("with forms") which was removed for a cover of the American version of the Maxim magazine. The model has published a picture on Monday, March 28, on the page in Instagram.
For a photoshoot 28-y
