Sandra Kennedy earned her fashion designing degree at the North East Mid Essex Technical College and School of Art in England and went straight to work for the famed French Connection label where she honed her skills first as a patternmaker and then as a toilist.

Here, her talent for all aspects of the design and garment construction process became obvious.

She came to Jamaica in the 1980s with her mother and decided to stay on, making her mark on the fashion scene and evolving into one of the most accomplished fashion designers Jamaica has produced.

Her CHAD and Sandra Kennedy collections were annual presentations which captured the imagination of fashionistas throughout the region and elsewhere.
