The Turkish company Gemko Group was founded in 1989 in Istanbul. Initially the company included the Gemko, Esmina, Melany and TheQueens brands.

By the beginning of two-thousand Gemko Group began to gain quickly popularity among women not only in the country, but also on the Balkans, in countries of Eastern Europe, in Central Asia and in the Middle East. Today Gemko Group has a retail network more than in 300 points worldwide.

In 2008 the company created the separate division which is engaged in release and realization of women's clothing of the big sizes (from 16 to 22) - Gemko Plus Size.
