 The American company Abi & Lois is very young, it executed recently year. But she already participated in many fashion shows of plus size and won popularity among stout women.
The company generally lets out dresses of very big sizes, and also skirts, blouses and tops, using in production natural fabrics, first of all cotton and silk.
Claudia Edwards, the designer of the line Abi and Lois begun to sew at the age
of 8. Her mother, a talented seamstress
sewed all the clothing for Claudia and her seven sisters.
While Claudia learned
the basics at home, she was inspired by fashion and design. She make her first
pieces as a child for her dolls, then by her teen years she made accessories for
her room like decorative pillows.
In
Junior High School Claudia had to wear uniforms to school, during the summer she
created her own pleated skirt while away. "My mother was pleasantly surprised
when I showed it to her,” said Claudia.
Abi and Loi’s website
(www.abiandlois.com) was established only in January of 2011 and will undergo a
re-vamp due to her first professional photo shoot which took place in September
"I am very excited at launching our new look,” she said.
Claudia’s inspiration
behind Abi and Lois is to partly fuelled by her family, "Many of my sisters and
my mom are plus sized women and they have a hard time finding comfortable,
stylish, clothing that has classic timeless designs at a reasonable price
point,” said Edwards.
The name Abi and Lois was inspired by Claudia Edwards’
Children’s names. Her youngest daughter’s middle name is Abigail and her older
daughter’s is Lois.
